Acquired Brain Injury and Stroke

Counselling

Adults (including Caregivers), Youth 12+, Couples & Families

Clients can openly discuss their brain injury or stroke experience in a safe, non- judgemental space. ABI impacts roles, relationships and daily functioning. Clients are supported to identify barriers to wellness, develop new perspectives, and learn healthy coping skills to enhance their quality of life. Caregiver well-being is key to minimizing isolation and feeling overwhelmed when supporting a family member with a brain injury.
Exploring the emotional costs of caregiving can build resiliency and coping for couples and families.

Education and Employment Support & Planning

I work with clients to develop learning and planning strategies for all educational settings. This can include collaboration and consultation with other healthcare/school-based
professionals, parents/caregivers of youth 12+, or adults. Employment support can include individualized accommodations in the work environment, employer education, and ongoing follow up and support.

Complex Case Management

Case Management Services coordinate supports for people with significant acquired brain injury outcomes, including those from strokes. This role helps build client-centered teams and advocate for the individuals needs and goals.
